Journal: Day One

First day of surveying started with the measurement of the south/east corner, across the southern river front and over the west ridge. Engineer Carlos Bermudez and his two assistants, Mata and Heiner, arrived with me from San Isidro the morning of Saturday, January 25th, 2003.

The first day of surveying started at 7:30 am and ended at 5:00 pm. The southern river front and western mountain ridge of the property were measured.

During the begining of the day, my sister Tamara joined me while we measured the southern border along the creek and river.

Hugo, the seller of the property, and his field manager, Gerardo, were also present during the surveying. One of Hugo's workers, Don Antonio, brought us water from the creek below, after we climbing up and measured the western ridge several hundred feet from the river base below.

By the end of the day, we were all sweaty, dirty and exhausted.
